SCARLET BOTTLEBRUSH (Callistemon Rugulosus) Seeds

Grows up to 4 meters in height and has stiff, sharply pointed leaves. This species occurs in mallee scrubs and low open woodland in the northern grampians, the big desert, the little desert and the mount lofty ranges.

A hardy every green native shrub that is not well known in cultivation but is extremely attractive and very useful as a screen or windbreak.

It produces puffy red bottlebrush flowers that are yellow tipped throughout summer.

This species prefers light, moist soils but can withstand periods of drought. It also exhibits a degree of frost and salt tolerance, compact growth is encouraged by pruning after flowering. Easy to grow a must for any garden

Bush food: Bottlebrush flowers have a sweet nectar which can either be consumed by sucking on the flowers or by soaking the flowers in water to make a sweet drink.
