Common names; Native Raspberry, Small-leaved Bramble, Native Bramble, Pink-flowered Native Raspberry, Small Leaf Bramble, Small Leaf Raspberry, Small-leaf Bramble.

Presence in Australia, predominantly east of the Hume Highway in higher rainfall areas. This species has been identified in the following Australian states: Qld, NSW, ACT, Vic, Tas, SA.

A scrambling shrub to about 1 m high, sometimes prostrate, prefers moist well-drained soil and semi-shade. Very hardy and drought tolerant.

Flowering: Red or pink flowers, Sep-Feb.

Red raspberry-like fruit, mid Dec to mid Feb.  The berries contain high amounts of antioxidants.

Excellent habitat. Berries are food for native birds and plants are valuable cover for bandicoots.

Attractive cover for rocks and walls, and can be trained as a climber.

Bush Food: Berries are sweet and edible can be used for jams and pies.

Bush Medicine: Leaves can make an astringent tea to treat diarrhoea.

Germination: Germination usually occurs within 1-2 weeks.
Use fresh seed. Stratification (12 weeks) recommended to improve germination rate.
