A dwarf upright perennial herbaceous everlasting daisy plant with attractive narrow grey-green foliage with masses of white-budded white everlasting daisies in late winter to spring. Rhodanthe anthemoides is widespread in eastern Australia and Tasmania.
Suits Mediterranean, dry style, coastal, cottage, bush & alpine designs, informal edging, hanging basket, mass planting, groundcovers, spillover, border.
This plant does not tolerate deep shade or extremely dry and hot climates. It grows best in deep garden beds but also will tolerate shallow sandy soils provided fertiliser and water are adequate. Lightly prune after flowering. Tolerates light frosts.
0.3 metres high by about 0.6 metres wide. A fast growing easy care ground cover plant.
Rhodanthe anthemoides was previously known as Helipterum anthemoides.
Bush Medicine: The leafy stems can be dried and soaked in hot water and made into a relaxing tea, nice to have when you were going to bed, or waking up in the morning. Herbal and earthy taste used for its calming and relaxation benefits.
Germination: Propagation from seed can be carried out without any pretreatment. Preferred planting is best done between autumn to spring.
