Willow bottlebrushes form an excellent small tree to 7m tall, and a width under 5m. It is known for its excellent bright green foliage that is willow like, hence the common name. Creamy white flowers typically appear in late spring and are up to 5cm long.

The trunks are also attractive, paper-barked and typically a mix of cream and tan.

With ideal conditions c. salignus will grow up to 1200mm a year and form an excellent weeping canopy within 5 years.

Attractive to bees, butterflies and birds. Will grow in most sites including those where water logging is a problem.

Bush food: Bottlebrush flowers have a sweet nectar which can either be consumed by sucking on the flowers or by soaking the flowers in water to make a sweet drink.

Germination: sow direct on the surface, germination 1- 4 weeks
