Kuparta, or Stylobasium spathulatum, is native to the Northern Territory, Queensland, and Western Australia. The species name spathulatum is derived from the Latin word spathulatus, meaning "spoon-shaped", describing the unique shape of its leaves.
Known to the Walmajarri people as Kuparta, this bush has been used for centuries in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Erect shrub, 0.5-2.5 m high. Fl. green-yellow/brown, May to Oct. Wide range of habitats.

Bush Medicine: The leaves of the Stylobasium spathulatum shrub are used in smoke therapy for medicinal purposes
Germination: The seeds won't germinate until cooler weather in late April. Treatment: Fresh seeds can be treated with dry heat at 100°C for 3 hours.
