RIVER BOTTLEBRUSH (Callistemon Sieberi) Seeds

Callistemon sieberi is an attractive, easy to grow plant which could be used in a shrubbery, as a screen or informal hedge or as part of a mixed border.

'River bottlebrush' as the name suggests occurs naturally along rivers and water courses in the higher rainfall regions
It is usually a medium sized shrub around 2.5 m tall but can vary from 0.6 m to a small 8 m tree.

Remarkably hardy and adaptable. It is used extensively in revegetation programs thoughout the regions to which it is suited.

Pinkish new growth and spikes of cream, pale yellow, or sometimes pink flowers in summer. Flowering occurs mainly from October to January.

Callistemon sieberi is regarded as a synonym of Melaleuca paludicola, Callistemon sieberi is an alpine form is a smaller, denser, rounded shrub suitable as a more formal plant.

Bush food : bottlebrush flowers have a sweet nectar which can either be consumed by sucking on the flowers or by soaking the flowers in water to make a sweet drink.

Germination: sow direct on the surface, germination 1- 4 weeks
