Medium sized semi-deciduous shade tree with pendulous branches & weeping form. Green-cream flowers.
Black nuts & small edible kernel.
Can tolerate periodic inundation.
4.5 - 12 metres tall.
Range - Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland.
Habitat - Basaltic plains, seasonal swamps in heavy soils and alluvium. Found mainly on flat to gently undulating, low-lying alluvial plains and less commonly on dissected plateaux at elevations from 80 - 425 metres.
It grows best in areas where annual daytime annual temperatures are within the range 22 - 38°c, though it can tolerate 12 - 45°c
Requires a sunny position. Grows best in a well-drained soil, but can tolerate periodic inundation. Prefers a pH in the range 5 - 6, but tolerates 4.5 - 6.5
